The Senate version of the health care reform bill, that is. It’s time to pull the plug on this loser. That’s not just my opinion. Howard Dean, Darcy Burner, and Markos Moulitsas all agree it’s time to kill the bill.
Why, you ask? Because it provides no real reform. It doesn’t provide any competition to the insurance companies (such as a public option or Medicare buy-in), it mandates people buy insurance or face stiff fines, it puts an additional tax burden on the middle class by taxing cosmetic procedures, it does NOTHING to rein in insurance costs. In short, it does more harm than good.
The first rule of medicine is “do no harm.” The same rule should apply to new legislation.

I’m as frustrated by this sh*tty situation as I have ever been by anything. Single payer is what the people want. Period. We should all be able to buy-in to medicare. Period. But the people who pull the strings, the people who pay the politicians salaries, the people who run the show, have an army of zombie idiots who do anything they say, so we can’t have what we need, what we want, what we deserve, just to give the President a black eye. MF’RS!
Wil, it’s like what happened on a certain fall day in 2001, when a tiny cadre of zealots fucked it up for everybody. Only difference is, we pay the salaries for this bunch.
Hoping sincerely that bringing up 9/11 does not become the new Godwin.
