A long time ago, I gathered a small crew and built a two-foot-wide mylar UFO to launch out over I-5 one night. Why? Youthful indiscretion, probably, or an urge to poke closed-mindedness and chicanery in the eye. I was a wee downy lad of 35.
The night was imperfect. My friends and I brought the craft to a little-used baseball field, separated from the highway by a copse of tall alders. With one last-minute sacrifice of a couple redundant lights, the balance was perfect and up she went into the October sky. The next day I reported my sighting to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC), who were so excited they sent out two investigators to interview me. Read the whole story here.
